Born in Izmir in 1960, Rebii Akdurak graduated from Ege University Faculty of Pharmacy after high school education at Özel Türk College. He was engaged in spare parts business until 1982, when he opened Makotrans Srl, the Italian branch of Metin Akdurak A.Ş. He continued to work at Makotrans Srl firm in Milan for 13 years until he returned to Izmir in 1995.
Rebii Akdurak, who was also the Chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce for a while, is a member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, 9 Eylül Rotary Club, and the Aegean Open Sea Yacht Club. Akdurak, who is still the chairman of the Solo Sailing Club which he founded in 2007, also undertook the duty of commodore in Çeşme Sailing Club for a while. In the same year, he founded the company Solo Deniz with his wife Özlem Akdurak. Currently owned by Metin Akdurak A.Ş. is one of the oldest and largest companies providing road transport services between Turkey and Italy.
